Childcare Assistance Program
- Childcare allowance is subject to availability of funds through the Perkins Basic Grant.
- In addition to General Eligibility the Student/Parent must
- Attend class on TVCC campus at least 2 days a week.
- Maintain enrollment in an Eligible Workforce Education Program
- Maintain enrollment in (six (6) or more semester credit hours)
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA
- Dependent Children must
- Be the legal dependent of the Parent applying for services
- Be enrolled at a state-licensed care facility, or state-licensed family home
- Attend designated Childcare provider at least 2 days a week
- Be age 12 or under
- The allowances listed are the maximum amount per child. They will not exceed the actual invoice from the childcare provider, including any other childcare assistance funds (such as CCS).
- Childcare funding from other sources (i.e. CCS) must be used first.
- Invoices are due by the last day of each month
- Each invoice must include the parent's name, child’s full name, dates of care, and applicable tuition rates.
- Any charges exceeding the approved allowance rates are the responsibility of the parent/ legal guardian.
- Payments will be made directly to the approved provider by check after monthly documentation is received and verified.
- Submission of late invoices will delay payment and could ultimately cause discontinuance of the program.
Maximum Allowance per Month
(Rates below are the maximum per child and shall not exceed the invoice amount from the childcare facility including any additional childcare assistance funds (i.e. CCS).

Note: Afterschool care is for age 12 and under. Part time means the child is enrolled at the childcare facility 2-3 days a week.
Application review award process:
- Student must complete the Perkins V Student Support application:
- Information is verified:
- Major and course(s) enrollment
- Hours enrolled
- GPA
- Class schedule (Must attend class on campus at least 2 days a week)
- Special Population self-identification (1 or more Categories)
- Residency status: U.S. citizen or eligible nonresident
- Student is notified of award
- Childcare Agreement signed and returned by student and Child Care Provider
- Child Daycare enrollment and tuition verified with provider
- Federal assistance like CCS will be verified.
- Approved Childcare Allowance form will be completed and returned to student and childcare
provider.
- W-9 from Childcare Provider submitted by Student
- Monthly documents are due by the last day of each month.
- Student will submit the providers’ invoice each month.
- Invoice must include Student/ Parent name, Child name, dates of service, applicable fees.
NOTE: August invoices will not be eligible if turned in late due to end-of-year requirements.
