Applying For Aid
As a Purple Heart College, TVCC is committed to helping veterans achieve their educational goals. Whether you are a new VA student or a returning / continuing VA student, we outlined the steps below for you to receive VA benefits.
New VA Student
Become a TVCC Student
You must complete your admissions before aid can be awarded to those who qualify.
TVCC will require some additional things from you to complete your student file before releasing you to qualify for aid, if eligible, and register for classes.
- Transcripts (GED, high school, college and/or military).
Order your military transcript and send it to this address:

- TSI Scores (degree seeking students will be required to submit college readiness documentation).
- Bacterial Meningitis Shot Record (applies to students under the age of 22).
Benefits
Create an account with Veterans Affairs to access your military personnel file.
If your benefits have never been used or applied for, submit your application (VA Form 22-1990 or VA Form 22-5490) to Veterans Administration as early as possible.
Meet With Advising
Meet with an Academic Advisor to complete the following steps:
- Degree Plan Advisement Form
- Enroll in a degree program approved for VA benefits.
- Register for courses.
Submit Documentation
All documents must be turned in at the same time for certification. Incomplete paperwork will not be accepted.
Please note. The TVCC Request for VA Certification Form must be submitted every semester.

Returning / Continuing VA Student
Meet With Advising
