Login Help
- To stay connected at TVCC, you will need to be able to log into your student accounts.
- All official notifications from TVCC will be sent to your Cardinal Email account.
- Your username, called a Cardinal ID, is included in your acceptance notification.
- Changing your password will automatically update it across all TVCC accounts.
- Your Cardinal Email address is your Cardinal ID followed by @tvcc.edu.

Multi-Factor Authentication
- To keep your data safe, TVCC has implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for student account portals.
- Once you have your Cardinal ID username and password, you should proceed to set up your MFA.
- You will not be able to access your accounts until MFA is fully set up and working properly.

Cardinal Email
- TVCC provides students with their own email account to ensure secure communication.
- All official communications from TVCC are sent to your Cardinal Email address.
- You can access your Cardinal Email using the shortcut at the top right of any TVCC website page.
- Cardinal Email accounts use the standard Cardinal ID and password combination.
- Your Cardinal Email account is the only way to change your account password.
MyCardinalConnect
- MyCardinalConnect is your main student portal for most school-related tasks.
- You can use it to view and accept financial aid awards, register for classes, make tuition payments or installments, and eventually apply for graduation.
- After successfully logging in, it is recommended that you take time to explore the resources and tools available to you as a student.
- MyCardinalConnect uses the standard Cardinal ID username and password combination.
- When logging in, you must include “@tvcc.edu” as part of your username.
First-time User
- Add an external email address to your User Profile under your Account icon.
- The far right of your top navigation bar will have a yellow or red square to show alerts.
Breakdown

- Student Finance: View your latest account balance, make online payments or set up payment plans.
- Tax Information: View tax 10981-T information and change consent for e-delivery of tax information.
- Student Planning: Search for available courses within the schedule each semester, plan your academic courses through graduation, and register online for your course selections.
- Graduation: View and submit graduation application.
- Transcript Requests: View and request a transcript.
- Financial Aid: Access financial aid awards information, check that all forms are submitted, and accept/decline aid.
- Banking Information: View and update banking preferences.
- Grades: View grades by term.
- Enrollment Verification: View and request enrollment verification documentation.
- Academic Attendance: View attendance by term.
Proxy Access
- You can grant others access to your My Cardinal Connect account.
- This access is typically limited to Student Finance and the secure payment center.
- Proxy users will still be required to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- This access should be established as early as possible to avoid delays when making payments before tuition deadlines.
Troubleshooting
Students should be able to access the above portals within 48 hours of notification from TVCC that you have fully completed your admissions process.

Canvas
- Canvas is the online platform TVCC uses for online learning.
- Canvas uses the same Cardinal ID username and password as your other TVCC accounts.
- New students may not have an active Canvas account or see their online classes until the beginning of their first semester.
Troubleshooting
Students should be able to access the above portals within 48 hours of notification from TVCC that you have fully completed your admissions process.
