Sociology is the study of social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Sociologists investigate the structure of groups, organizations, and societies and how people interact within these contexts (ASA, 2023). Our program provides a robust foundation for transferring to a baccalaureate college or university by following the Texas Transfer Framework with key component, the Field of Study.  A degree in sociology can lead to careers in teaching, research, social work, public relations, and many other areas working within the community.
