TVCC’s Nursing program offers four educational paths—an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), an RN-to-BSN program, ADN Transition options, and Vocational Nursing (VN)—designed to meet students at different stages of their nursing journey and prepare them for career advancement.

Associate Degree Nursing (ADN)

A two-year, ACEN-accredited program preparing graduates to take the NCLEX-RN® for licensure as Registered Nurses. Career opportunities include acute care, pediatrics, rehab, long-term care, school nursing, and home health.

RN-to-BSN

A 9-month post-licensure program for RNs with an ADN or nursing diploma, preparing graduates for leadership roles. Coursework includes health policy, informatics, community wellness, research, and evidence-based practice.

ADN Transition Pathways (LVN-to-ADN + Paramedic-to-ADN)

One-year programs building on prior experience, allowing students to enter the second year of the ADN program and prepare for NCLEX-RN® licensure.

Vocational Nursing (VN)

Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) provide essential patient care in clinics, hospitals, long-term care facilities, homes, and other healthcare settings. Their quick thinking, clinical skills, and compassionate care play a vital role in supporting patients’ health and recovery. Upon approval by the Texas Board of Nursing, graduates of TVCC’s Vocational Nursing Program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination – PN (NCLEX-PN®) to become licensed as a vocational nurse (LVN).
